We are The Freak Fandango Orchestra and we came to save the world!
Ok, maybe we won’t save the world, but we’re about to make it a whole lot more interesting with a NEW ALBUM, filled with a lot of great songs that will brighten up your day. We’ll go to the studio in january to record 9 songs for our album. Six brand new Freak Fandango songs, two awesome traditional pieces and one of our oldest songs which will be re-arranged. Also the booklet will have a lot of great artwork from different artists and we will design brand new T-Shirts.

To do all this we still need a bit of help from you. Visit our crowdfunding campaign, get cool rewards and join us to save the world!

For our new album, we still need to cover all the necessary costs and that’s why we are on Verkami. We offer you to collaborate to produce the new CD, in exchange for some cool stuff from us:
The new CD with great artwork, cool T-Shirts, private concerts and a lot more.
And we promise to make this the best and most exciting Freak Fandango record ever.

Remix the Fish

Viernes, Marzo 23rd, 2012

Hi everyone, we’re looking for people who wants to REMIX OUR SONGS.
We put three of our songs from the almum: Tales of a Dead Fish at with all the different samples. So you can download and remix them as you wish. The idea is you remix our songs and then if you like you send them to us. We put them together and make a digital remix-release. We may not choose all. We reserve us the right to decide which we publish and which not. Of course you can publish your remix wherever you want, but alway under the Creative Commons License.
You can use Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC 3.0) License
or Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0).
If you want to release the remix under a different license, please contact us and we discuss it.

We love creative commons, but what if….

Miércoles, Febrero 1st, 2012

Really we love creative commons, but don’t forget that it can bring you unpleasant surprises. Because what happens if:

-someone includes your music in an nazi-sampler. Or an Nazi party convert your music into there official hymn. Sure that doesn’t mean that you agree with this shit but honestly that’s not the publicity that you had in mind, isn’t it?

-you  publish under Attribution-ShareAlike (like we do) than everybody can print your cd, sell it (under cc-license, shure) and become an millionaire. Thinking about it maybe we should change the license to NC. Or maybe no, who knows.

It’s always the same thing what do you want freedom or security? More freedom means less security and more security means less freedom.

sure there are more worst-case scenarios, can you think of some? Let us know!
